GREEN @ COMMUNITY serves to strengthen environmental education and promote green living at the community level by providing logistics support for more residents to take part in waste reduction and recycling.
Renewable Energy (RE) offers proven alternatives to the burning of fossil fuels for power generation. The Government is committed to the development of RE in Hong Kong with a view to further improving our air quality.
Funding and Subsidy Schemes
The Green Tech Fund, established with a $200 million Government allocation, aims to provide better and more focused funding support for the R&D and application of decarbonisation and green technologies, so as to expedite low-carbon transformation and enhance environmental protection in Hong Kong.
As part of its long-term commitment to environmental protection and conservation, the Government has injected $5 billion into the Environment and Conservation Fund in 2013, which serves as seed money to generate annual investment returns to support such green projects and activities.
